Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z have decided to embark on a stadium tour called the Legends of the Summer. Pop music’s bad boy and the godfather of rap recently collaborated on a single titled “Suit & Tie” which the pair performed together at the 2013 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles. The performance gave way to rumors regarding a co-headlining tour, which were confirmed in February.
Legends of the Summer Tour is set to kick off on July 17 in Toronto. The pair will play the Rose Bowl in Pasadena on July 28. The average price for Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake tickets in Los Angeles is $466, the most expensive concert of the tour. Justin Timberlake Los Angeles tickets sold out quickly for the Rose Bowl show. The news of this tour should be particularly tantalizing for Justin fans as he has been on a musical hiatus for about six years now – though he has appeared in a number of feature films as well as hosting “Saturday Night Live.” The last time he toured was in 2007 on the Future Sex/Love Show which was in support of his album, “Future Sex/Love Sounds.” His opening acts included Pink and Fergie. He played the Staples Center in L.A. in January of that year.
Jay-Z once made headlines and plenty of controversy in 2008 when he was announced as the first hip-hop act at the Glastonbury Festival. He opened with an ironic cover of Oasis’s “Wonderwall.” This summer Jay-Z will be celebrating the release of his album, “Magna Carta … Holy Grail” as well as his collaboration on “The Great Gatsby” soundtrack, one of the summer’s biggest blockbusters. It has been said that the rapper will be creating a “Gentlemen’s Club” at each stop along this tour.
