Tegan and Sara Tour News and Updates
2014 Let's Make Things Physical Tour
Indie darlings-turned-synthpop duchesses, Tegan and Sara, have reached a level of popularity they never anticipated. The twin sisters from Calgary, born Tegan Rain and Sara Keirsten Quin, started making music when they were fifteen years old, but didn't hit mainstream until the late 2000s by traversing the new wave and indie folk revival. With their seventh studio album, Heartthrob, the duo landed their highest charting record to date, hitting No.1 on the rock/alt charts. Both of the twins are openly gay artists, and have long been positive influences in the LGBT community, nominated for a GLAAD Media Award along with Elton John
and Lady Gaga
2014 will be Tegan and Sara's biggest year yet. After dropping hit single "Closer" last year and appearing on stage with Taylor Swift, the duo's new sound has amassed fan base that's stretching far beyond their huge cult popularity. The Canadian imports recently announced a "Lets Make Things Physical Tour" following the release of their Lego Movie tongue-in-cheek song "Everything is Awesome!!!" The sister's jaunt rides on the release of second Heartthrob single, "I Was A Fool" and precedes their opening act duties for Katy Perry's gigantic "PRISMATIC World Tour".
Tegan and Sara's pre-Perry tour runs from March 12 to Jun 28, and will hit cities not included on their Katy Perry trek including; Ft. Lauderdale, Nashville, Washington, DC (two nights), Chicago (two nights), New York and more. They will also accompany Paramore on their "Parahoy" 4-day cruise sailing from Miami to the Bahamas. After their Lets Make Things Physical Tour," the sisters join Capital Cities and Kacey Musgraves as the third installment of major opening acts for Perry this year. Tegan and Sara will take the West coast PRISMATIC dates from Sep 9 to Oct 8; including Portland, Las Vegas, Denver, Salt Lake City, and two nights each in Vancouver, Anaheim, Los Angeles, San Jose and Dallas.
