Skrillex 2014 Mothership Tour
Sonny Moore, better known by his stage name Skrillex, exploded on the music scene in the late 2000s when he traded in his emo digs for turntables and mixers. Previously the frontman for post-hardcore band From First to Last, Skrillex turned his attention to electro, giant-noise dubstep and remixing mainstream pop hits into dance floor jams, which he calls "vibescapes." His mammoth EDM hits and Grammy-winning production skills made him a mainstay on the radio and in the clubs even before his first album was released.
Moore created and released My Name is Skrillex, an EP that took the sounds of Benny Benassi and Deadmau5, coupled with the Chemical Brothers and Fatboy Slim. Skrillex hit the top of the club charts with "Kill Everybody" off of his sophomore EP Scary Monsters and Sprites. The EDM producer released Recess, a surprise album, available on his "Alien Ride" app, which chronologically revealed 11 hidden objects (or tracks). The record is the artist's first full-length studio work and features organic samples (breaths, clocks, wind, etc.) collaborations with Diplo, Ragga Twins, Chance the Rapper and a slew of K-Pop stars.
Skrillex will hit the big three music festivals this summer: Coachella
(headlining Saturday 8/12 & 8/19), Bonnaroo
(headlining Sunday, 8/3), in addition to a number of dates on his Mothership Tour in support of Recess. Accompanied by Dillon Francis, DJ Snake and others, Skrillex tickets are available for all dates, including: Oklahoma City, Detroit, Toronto, Albany, St. Louis, Morrison, Portland, an extended line-up for two nights at Red Rocks in Denver, and more. See this DJ in his element and hear him mix tracks right in front of your eyes with Skrillex tickets!
