Rise Against Tour News and Updates
Hardcore rockers Rise Against are one of the few punk groups to transcend underground and mainstream while maintaining a firm point of view in their sound and lyrics. The four piece—comprised of Tim McIlrath, Zach Blair, Joe Principe and Brandon Barnes—is known for issuing politically abrasive themes that condemn immorality of Big Government and corruption found in Westernized culture. Their concerts are high-octane shows with
… morea purpose to recall the glory days of revolutionary activism in punk rock.
Formed in Chicago in 1999, Rise Against put out self-produced albums in the early 2000s that were well received by critics and fans alike, resulting in headlining gigs on Vans Warped Tour. The group eventually landed a major record deal with Geffen to produce “Siren Song of the Counter Culture”—marking their first foray into the Billboard Hot 200 chart. After extensive world touring, Rise Against dropped “The Sufferer & the Witness” which cracked the Top 10. This was followed by “Endgame” and their highest charting work yet, “Appeal to Reason” which reached No.3 and cemented the group as mainstays in rock music.
Rise Against is out on the road to promote the release of their latest effort “The Black Market” which fortifies the groups politically charged refrains, but less incensed and more pensive than before. The bang will hit the road on Riot Fest 2014, along with a grab bag of dates in September and October, including a 9/6 concert in Michigan alongside The Offspring, Bad Religion and more punk bands. Score Rise Against tickets for their 2014 tout and join them in a call-to-arms for social justice—backed by some of the hardest-hitting punk chords in music.
