Ringo Starr 2014 Tour
Legendary Beatles drummer Ringo Starr, recently made a massive announcement following his successful reunion with Paul McCartney at the Grammys last week. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and his “All-Starr Band” will be heading out on a 28-date North American tour this summer. As a member of the biggest band in history, Starr’s infinite influence will only grow in time, as his iconic Abbey Road track, “Octopus’s Garden” was recently transformed into a children’s book.
Kicking off in Ontario June 6 ($142 min.), the trek includes stays in New York (two nights at the Beacon Theater, $154 min.), Atlantic City, Detroit, Toledo, Dallas, San Diego, Santa Barbara, and Vancouver, before a finale in Los Angeles at the Greek Theatre on July 19 ($199 min.). The final date in Hollywood will also serve as a special “Peace & Love Celebration” to ring in the drummer’s 74th birthday. The Beatles are coming up to their 50th Anniversary since their historic U.S. debut on the Ed Sullivan Show, a moment that will be commemorated by “The Night That Changed America: A Grammy Salute to The Beatles” on Feb 9. Tribute performances from John Legend
, Dave Grohl, Katy Perry
, Alicia Keys, Stevie Wonder and more will honor the band’s cultural impact.
Ringo Starr has been touring with a rotating lineup of his All-Starr Band for over 25 years. The newest edition of his accompanying members feature some of music’s best instrumentalists: including members of Toto, Santana, Journey, Mr. Mister and ELO. As the icon concisely put it, “I love to be out there, and it’s just what I do.” Though the last two surviving members are going stronger than ever, both putting out new music and taking the stage again, it’s not often that you get the opportunity to see a member of the Beatles live.
