Queen Tour News and Updates
Queen, easily one of the greatest rock bands of all time, was fronted by legendary vocalist and iconic performer Freddie Mercury. The group formed out of London in 1970 and reached soaring fame with ubiquitous, larger-than-life songs "We Will Rock You," "We Are the Champions," "Bohemian Rhapsody" and many more. The group enjoyed eight gold and six platinum records before Mercury succumbed to AIDS in 1991—just one day after publicly acknowledging his struggle with the disease. Since his death, Mercury has become iconic in the gay community, and the band's surviving members and manager created the Mercury Phoenix Trust in his honor (an AIDS awareness and education fund).
