Lynyrd Skynyrd 2014 Tour
Lynyrd Skynyrd, the most widely praised and commercially successfully Southern Rock group of the 1970s, is back! This legendary band is spearheaded by Johnny Van Zant (vocals), Gary Rossington (guitar) and Rickey Medlock (guitar), who have provided the core of Lynyrd Skynyrd for over 35 years. Surviving members of the original band narrowly escaped death during the infamous plane crash of 1977, which claimed the lives of three bandmates at the peak of their success. Lynyrd Skynyrd soldiered on with much triumph, racking up over 60 albums and sales above 30 million worldwide. The group helped shape the world of music, with the release of "Sweet Home Alabama," "Free Bird," "Simple Man" and countless more.
Lynyrd Skynyrd has endured as a cultural icon over multiple generations due to their classic guitar licks and crossover appeal. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, are included in Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Artists of All Time list, and the band isn't slowing down anytime soon. After all, 2009's God & Guns debuted at #18 on Billboard's Top 2009, giving Skynyrd's highest debut since 1977. Their new album, Last of a Dyin' Breed, pays homage to traditional hard rock riffs, including the unparalleled tripled-guitar assaults and challenging vocals of old, while bringing in outside influences of the younger members.
Skynyrd originals are joined by Johnny Colt (bass), Mark "Sparky" Matejka (guitar), Peter Keys (keyboard), Michael Cartellone (drums), Dale Krantz Rossington and Carol Chase (backing vocals). Now is your chance to see these Rock and Roll Hall of Famers live with Lynyrd Skynyrd tickets! The band will hit the road at the end of April, and will be accompanied by their friends from Bad Company come July. With some of the best hooks in rock history, there's nothing like catching the Kings of Southern Rock on tour!
