Lollapalooza Festival 2015 News and Updates

7/29/15 - It’s the last week in July and that means that Chicago’s epic music festival is almost here! In just two days, Lollapalooza will kick off at Grant Park with an action-packed set list that includes headliners Paul McCartney, alt-J, The Weeknd, Alabama Shakes, and many others. If you are driving to the event, plan ahead for delays caused by heavy traffic. Concertgoers are encouraged to take public transportation the El to Monroe and State or Dearborn and State stops. Although the CTA has not yet posted any reroutes for busses, last year several were redirected to stop at Grant Park. If you don’t have your ticket to the show yet, there’s still time to get one. Tickets to Friday’s show start at just $94 with All-Weekend Passes starting at $331.

7/21/15 - While Lollapalooza is known for hosting some of the biggest names in music in one place during the span of one weekend, it is also known for giving some of the best up-and-coming artists some great exposure. Grant Park will welcome the likes of Sir Paul McCartney, Metallica, Sam Smith and Florence + the Machine on the weekend of July 31-Aug. 2, and while those names will draw the crowds, they won’t be the only ones drawing the attention. Some lesser-known artists to check out are BADBADNOTGOOD, Beat Connection, Mick Jenkins, Sturgill Simpson, In the Whale, Zebra Katz, the DMA’s and more. These are some of the most talented and innovative musicians in the business, so be sure to check them out while you’re at the festival! All-weekend passes for Lollapalooza are on sale now, starting at $236.

7/16/15 - Are you looking for an exciting music event this summer that is appropriate for the whole family? Well, make some time in your schedule on the weekend of July 31 because Lollapalooza has been named one of the most family-friendly festivals in the country this year! Not only does the fantastic 2015 lineup fit just about anyone’s taste, but it will also feature a kid zone, which has been nicknamed “Kidapalooza.” This area will feature artists like Mista Cookie Jar and the Chocolate Chips and will even have stations where kids can create their own music. What’s even better is that kids under the age of 10 can get into Kidapalooza for free! Now your whole family can enjoy a fun weekend of great music. Get your tickets today!

7/8/15 - Those heading to Lollapalooza in a few weeks no longer have to worry about getting stuck in traffic, parking, or other transportation headaches. The Chicago Metra has announced it will have $10 unlimited train passes for the weekend of the event. Attendees can purchase these special Metra tickets at the Metra ticket windows starting July 6, or they can just buy them on board the train starting July 31 after 9:30 am. Metra riders can also enter a sweepstakes being held by Metra and Lollapalooza for two tickets to the festival. The contest entries can be found on the rail's website. You can still buy tickets to the weekend concert that is filled with many top names in the business. Weekend passes start at $236, and single day passes start at $94.

7/1/15 - When planning a three-day music fest, there are many aspects to consider. Top priority for Lollapalooza officials was securing names like Paul McCartney, Metallica and Florence and the Machine to headline the event, which will be held at Grant Park in Chicago. One of the other important things to plan is how to feed over 160,000 people over three full days. Planners just announced the list of food vendors, and it seems pretty solid! They selected the best Chicago restaurants to participate, and there is almost guaranteed to be something for everyone’s tastes. Pick up your tickets for the whole Lollapalooza weekend from us today! It kicks off on Friday, July 31 and is set to end Sunday, August 2. The exclusive weekend pass prices start at $317.

6/24/15 - While you can always buy your Lollapalooza tickets right here starting at just $118 for a single day pass and $321 for an all weekend pass, the host city of Chicago is upping the ante for top technology students later this summer. Chicago is sponsoring the third annual Thinkchicago: Lollapalooza from July 30 to August 2 in conjunction with the music festival, where 125 top students will be given free tickets in exchange for their innovative ideas and business initiatives. The students will meet with leaders in the fields of technology and business and attempt to come up with a potential solution or strategy that could improve the quality of life in Chicago. Applications are due in by July 6 at the latest. Not a top tech student? We’ve still got you covered!

6/16/15 - With the lineup set for all three days of Chicago’s upcoming Lollapalooza music festival, some fans are having to make tough decisions about which acts to see. Because the festival is spread out over eight stages and includes more than 130 musical acts, each day presents a few critical overlaps in performances. On opening day, July 31, Paul McCartney will take the stage at the same time The Weeknd and Flying Lotus are also performing. On August 1, Sam Smith will perform at the same time as Metallica while Kid Cudi and Tyler the Creator will also share a time slot. On August 2, TV on the Radio and FKA Twigs will compete for the crowds as will headliner Florence + the Machine and Bassnectar. If you don’t want to miss a thing, all weekend passes are still available starting at $315.

6/8/15 - Music gurus who plan on attending Lollapalooza this year can expect more than just a phenomenal lineup of great musicians such Paul McCartney, Metallica and Florence + the Machine (to name a very few). Event officials have officially released the lineup for the aftershows, which will occur each night of the festival at venues across the Windy City after the stages close down at Grant Park. Places like House of Blues and the Aragon Ballroom will host bands and other musical acts such as Of Monsters and Men and Alt-J. Tickets for the three-day event can be purchased from us today with prices starting at $315 for the all-weekend pass and $118 for individual day passes. The music kicks off at 11:00AM and continues all day (and night) long!

4/7/15 - It’s that exciting time of year where the lineups for major music festivals are finally being announced! Perhaps the most anticipated event is Lollapalooza, which has gotten so big that they have expanded to South America, where they hold a two-day event in Brazil every March. This year’s Latin Lollapalooza featured names such as Jack White, Bastille, The Smashing Pumpkins and Pharrell Williams. The North American event will take place on July 31-Aug. 2, 2015. With tickets already sold out in many locations, it may be difficult to secure your passes if you wait much longer. Our all-weekend passes start at $323, a bargain price for such a highlight in alternative music. Come see great names such as Florence + the Machine, Sam Smith, Metallica and Paul McCartney!

3/30/15 - Summer is on the way, and for music fans, this can mean only one thing: Lollapalooza is just around the corner. This year’s festival kicks off on July 31 at Grant Park in Chicago, and full weekend passes are available now starting at $333. Friday’s slated lineup will be headlined by Sir Paul McCartney, The Weeknd, alt-J, and the Alabama Shakes. A bevy of today’s top indie rock and electronic acts also scheduled include Kaskade, DJ Snake, Dillon Francis, Flying Lotus, Glass Animals, and the Cold War Kids. Single day passes for Friday, July 31st are on sale now with prices starting at $133. Tickets for Saturday’s events start at $167, and you can get in Sunday for as low as $123—but act quickly, because supplies are limited across the board!

Lollapalooza Festival 2014

4/1/14 - The line up for Lollapalooza 2014 has been announced, and it's giving every summer festival this year a run for the money. As predicted last week, official headliners include Eminem and Arctic Monkeys (Friday) and Kings of Leon and Skrillex (Sunday)—but there's even more amazing artists headlining the Chicago music extravaganza. Outkast, Calvin Harris, Foster the People, NAS, Krewella and Spoon will take the stages on Saturday (8/1). Not to mention, Lorde, Zedd, Above & Beyond and Broken Bells will accompany Eminem and Arctic Monkey on the first day (4/2), while The Avett Brothers, Childish Gambino, Sebastian Ingrosso and Cage the Elephant join Kings of Leon and Skrillex for the Sunday finale (8/3). If you're looking for single-day tickets, Friday starts at $149, Saturday starts at $147 and Sunday offers the cheapest price of $129. Still, with a drool-inducing line up like this, it's hard to say no to an All Weekend Pass: three day passes start at $312.

3/25/14 - The lineup for Lollapalooza's 10th year anniversary this August in Grant Park won't be announced until later this week, but All-Weekend Passes already sold out within minutes this morning—luckily Razorgator has got you covered! You can get into all days for as low as $349 if you buy with us. Though these are just rumors, performers slated as headliners may be Eminem, Skrillex, Kings of Leon and Arctic Monkeys—just a few of the 100-plus bands that will grace the Chicago music festival this year.

8/6/13 - Lollapalooza 2014 dates have been announced. The music festival will take place August 1-3, 2014.

Lollapalooza Festival 2013

Over 160,000 Lollapalooza tickets are sold each year over a three day period. In 2013, Lollapalooza festival tickets sold out within hours. Prices on the secondary market are increasing with demand. In April, a three-day Lollapalooza pass was averaging $520. Just a month out and 2013 Lollapalooza ticket prices for the festival are up $132 on average. Lollapalooza tickets last year were half the cost, averaging $350.

Lollapalooza aftershows include Kendrick Lamar, Hot Chip, and The Lumineers. Lollapalooza aftershow tickets and pre-fest events are sold separately for all 37 pre and after shows over the five night period. The summer festival in Grant Park is also known for its food selection; like last year, MasterChef Graham Elliot will oversee the restaurants serving up food at Chow Town. Lollapalooza will remain in the city of Chicago until (at least) 2018.
