Coldplay Tour News and Updates
With their genius melodies and introspective lyrics, Coldplay is easily one of the biggest and most influential bands of the new millennium. Welding British pop and anthemic rock sounds, the British quartet has held a presence in the music world since they first emerged on the back of ubiquitous single, "Yellow." This gifted band is known for their colorful and dynamic live shows, delivering an unforgettable experience every time they hit the stage.
Coldplay will be on the road in 2014 in support of the forthcoming album, Ghost Stories. The British rockers will hit Beacon Theater in New York (5/5), before visiting UCLA's Royce Hall on May 19. Coldplay tickets are currently available for just their NY show: starting at $166 and capping off at $2739. Don't worry "Magic" lovers; the band is sure to announce follow-up dates soon!
Coldplay formed in the mid-90s by lead singer Chris Martin and guitarist Johnny Buckland while students at University College London. Guy Berryman (bass) and Will Champion (drums) joined the lineup and Coldplay released numerous EPs before the turn of the century. Coldplay hit it big when "Parachutes" in 2000, preceded by their debut hit single. Their follow-up album, A Rush of Blood to The Head, was awarded numerous accolades—from NMEs to Brits and Grammys and topping BBC Radio's favorite album of all time poll. Coldplay didn't stop there; X&Y released in 2005 and was proclaimed the best-selling album worldwide, propelling the group to legendary status. Since then the band released Viva la Vida and Mylo Xyloto, all to international acclaim, and recently announced the drop of their newest effort, Ghost Stories, will occur later this year.
