Bastille 2014 Tour News and Updates

English rock band Bastille has soared to heights of popularity that indie groups rarely attain—all from a single debut album chock-full of infectious singles. Bastille originally started as a solo project by singer-songwriter Dan Smith, whose birthday (July 14th) is the French Bastille Day. The group formed in 2010 upon the addition of Chris Wood, William Farquarson and Kyle Simmons. The band gained traction after releasing music online, which ultimately landed them slots at massive UK festivals (Glastonbury and Isle of Wight), all before signing a record deal.

Bastille eventually signed with EMI Records, and released singles “Overjoyed,” “Flaws” and “Bad Blood,” but the band did not truly breakthrough until the release of “Pompeii.” The immensely popular track was 2013’s second most-streamed song (behind Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky”) and was followed by the drop of their first full-length album, which sold over 2 million copies and reaped the 2014 Brit Award for Best Breakthrough Act. The deluxe record, All This Bad Blood, spurned the drop of yet another viral single, “Of the Night.”

There is no where to go but up for this promising rock group with an exceptional on-stage reputation. Their contemporary 80’s pop rock songs, compounded by undeniably catchy choruses are made to be sung in arenas. In 2014, Bastille will hop across the pond to play a series of shows in the US and Canada, starting with the iHeart Radio Music Festival in Las Vegas on Sept. 16. The group will hit the road to kick off their official tour on Oct. 7 in Philadelphia, snaking across North America before wrapping up Nov. 20 in Los Angeles. Buy Bastille tickets now and see this British sensation the way they are meant to be heard, with thousands of fans chanting along to every song.
