Arcade Fire 2014 REFLEKTOR TOUR
Canadian art-rockers, Arcade Fire, have announced a 28-date mega-venue tour in support of the group’s 4th studio album, Reflektor— so successful it knocked Katy Perry
out of the top spot. The tour will start in Louisville, KY (3/7) and hit major cities: Denver (4/23), Atlanta (5/2), and Seattle (8/17), with a string of nights in Canada, and two at Barclays Center
in Brooklyn, NY. Eager to mix the visual and listening art forms together, the band encourages fans to come dressed in “formal attire or costume” to create a “fun carnival” experience both the performers and spectators can enjoy!
The group’s debut album, Funeral, propelled the indie-rockers to the top of the charts in both the US and UK; a degree of stardom that the humble provocateurs never expected, and are still getting used to. Always keen to stay true to their original sound, Arcade Fire’s subsequent albums (Neon Bible, The Suburbs) still burst with the emotionally pensive, heartbreaking tunes that made fans fall in love with them when the band first emerged as indie darlings.
Win Butler and wife Regin Chassagne, whose beautiful harmonies tinge the outfit’s painfully sweet songs, lead the seven-member group. But their music goes far beyond vocal harmony: the self-produced band include everything from the saxophone, mandolin, harp and xylophone in their sets, offering listeners a unique music experience and a sound that is unlike any contemporary group. Arcade Fire is already a mainstay in music, admired for their distinctive, purely imaginative renderings of composition and culture. We’ve come to expect nothing less from the “21st century’s preeminent” rock band!
