3 Doors Down Tour News and Updates
3 Doors Down is a band from a little town with huge sound. Hailing from Escatawpa, Mississippi, the hard rockers erupted the music scene with Superman-inspired "Kryptonite" and were ever-present on the radio with a dozen of post-grunge hits including "When I'm Gone" and "Here Without You." Their work has reaped sales of over 20 million albums worldwide, three Grammy nominations, two AMAs and a numerous songwriting accolades. Original members Brad Arnold (vocals) and Chris Henderson (guitar) provide the core, while Greg Upchurch, Chet Roberts and Justin Biltonen to the 3DD lineup.
The massive popularity garnered by debut album, The Better Life, thrust 3 Doors Down out of the Deep South and into mainstream international fame in the early 2000s. Since then, the band has released a handful of multi-platinum albums including Away From the Sun and Seventeen Days. The group split their time between Los Angeles and Tokyo to record Time of My life, and most recently released a Greatest Hits album highlighted by nine No. 1 singles. 3DD's sixth studio effort, Songs From the Basement, is set to drop sometime this year.
The usually hardcore musicians embarked on a successful "Acoustic: Songs From the Basement" tour last year, and now, the band has announced a host of 2014 summer tour dates. The string of 46 shows will kick off May 30 in Friant, CA and visit Hershey, Cincinnati, Durham, Charlotte, Beaumont, Jacksonville, Atlanta and more, before closing in Hutchinson, KS on Sept 13. The acoustic set is complete with comfy couches and homey rugs, and lucky concertgoers will be picked to join the band on stage—but take note: some of the dates listed will be "plugged-in" shows as well!
