Austin City Limits News - 2013 Austin City Limits Festival Updates
For nine years in a row, the Austin City Limits Festival has sold out. With the demand for more days, event organizers have expanded the ACL Festival to two weekends for the first time in 2013. Last year, the Austin City Limits Music Festival drew 225,000 to Zilker Park, the fourth largest event in Austin behind Formula One Racing Weekend, the Star of Texas Fair and Rodeo, and Trail of Lights (Austin Business Journal).
The first weekend will be held October 4-6 with Austin City Limits Festival tickets averaging $544 for a three day pass. The second weekend October 11-13 has ACL tickets costing an average of $581. The Austin concert has a higher priced all weekend pass than most other major music festivals
. Bonnaroo Music Festival tickets for a four-day pass averaged $362. Coachella tickets
averaged $505 for Weekend 1 and $472 for Weekend 2; unlike Austin City Limits Festival tickets, the second weekend at Coachella was cheaper. In fact, Week 2 tickets started at $252, almost $100 below face value. Sasquatch tickets had a similar price to ACL Festival tickets, averaging $552.
More than 150 acts will perform on 8 stages in one weekend at ACL. ‘The live music capital of the world’ always brings a diverse lineup to Zilker Park captivating a wide audience of music festival goers. Last year's lineup included the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Neil Young & Crazy Horse, and The Black Keys. After touring the states, Depeche Mode
will be part of the 2013 Austin City Limits Music Festival lineup. As will headlining acts The Cure
