the third & final time with Joel Casamayor. In their first
slugfest, Casamayor won by
TKO in the sixth round as Corrales bled badly from the mouth. Five
months later, in a brutal rematch, Corrales evened the score,
winning by split decision. Before their third and final rubber match Diego
"Chico" Corrales lost his title on the scales coming in 5 pounds
overweight. The rematch ended in a split decision with Joel "El Cepillo"
Casamayor capturing the belt and the vacant title.
