• In June 2004, Andy Roddick earned a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records when he clocked in the fastest tennis serve ever at a warp-speed of 153 mph (246.2 km/h).
• The world record for fastest tennis serve by a woman belongs to Venus Williams, who fired a 128.8 mph serve on May 30th, 2007, during the French Open tournament.
• Pete Sampras holds the record for most Grand Slam singles titles in the Open era with 14. Sampras retired from tennis in 2003.
• Margaret Smith Court tops the list for most Grand Slam singles titles by a woman (24). Steffi Graf is second with 22, followed by Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova with 18 apiece.
• Prior to the Open era, “Big Bill” Tilden was the game’s most dominant athlete. Over the course of his illustrious career, Tilden captured four Grand Slam tennis titles and seven straight Davis Cups.
