Neutral Site NCAA Football Tickets
It’s college football season, and this year there are 20 games at neutral sites – a growing tradition of holding games off-campus at large and well-known venues.
According to CBS Sports, the idea was born in 2008, when Peach Bowl president Gary Stokan wanted to gin up easy-to-ignore Week 1 games. He wanted to make it the “Daytona 500 of college games.”
Eight years later, the tradition is still going strong.
This year, the season kicks off in the United States with the Colorado State Rams going up against the Colorado Buffaloes. The teams face off at the Sports Authority Field at Mile High Denver on Friday, September 2. Tickets for the game range in price from $34 to $472.
It seems like Stokan’s plan to raise excitement about the first week games is working. The Coloradoan reports that players are excited for the opportunity to play the annual Rocky Mountain Showdown at an NFL stadium.
“I think it’s great for the state of Colorado,” Colorado State University offensive coordinator Will Friend told the Coloradoan. “I think it provides interest for the fans, and it’s great for the high school kids to see.”
