Week two saw nine Sunday games decided by seven points or less. There were a number of intriguing games, including Baltimore’s 25-20 win over Cleveland. The Browns jumped out to a 20-0 lead in the first quarter, but instead of coasting to victory in a blowout, Joe Flacco and the Ravens stormed back with 25 unanswered points. Flacco threw for 302 yards in the comeback victory.

Tennessee also made a comeback in its 16-15 win over Detroit. Trailing 15-3 heading into the fourth quarter, the Titans scored 13 straight points to pull out the one-point win. Running back DeMarco Murray rushed for 89 yards for Tennessee.


Murray’s former team, Dallas, was also involved in a barn-burner. Behind 102 receiving yards from Dez Bryant, Dallas outlasted Washington 27-23. The Cowboy’s triumph spoiled a big day for the Redskins Kirk Cousins. The quarterback threw for 364 yards in a losing cause.

The New York Giants beat the New Orleans Saints 16-13. Eli Manning was huge for New York. The veteran signal caller had 368 yards through the air. The Giants’ defense limited New York to just 41 yards on the ground.

New England held off a late charge from the Miami Dolphins, prevailing 31-24 despite 14 points in the final quarter from Miami. The Patriots’ quarterback, Jimmy Garoppolo, filling in for the suspended Tom Brady was injured in the game. Rookie Jacoby Brissett replaced him and went 6-9 for 92 yards.

Other close Sunday games included Houston defeated Kansas City 19-12, the L.A. Rams edging Seattle 9-3, Atlanta getting past Oakland 35-28 and Minnesota beating Green Bay 17-14.
