1. Martin Truex Jr (4 wins, 16 top 10s)
What more can be said about Truex this year? Discovered in an online (!) racing series by Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Martin Truex has broken out this year with a series leading 4 wins and almost double the amount of playoff points over his next closest competitor. With crew chief Cole Pearn calling the shots is this the year Furniture Row Racing gets their first championship?

2. Kyle Larson (3 wins, 14 top 10s)
“The next Jeff Gordon.” With that kind of hype leading into his pro racing career there was a lot for Kyle Larson to live up to. After the job he’s done on the track this year it’s safe to say he’s on his way.

3. Jimmie Johnson (3 wins, 7 top 10s)
Here we see Jimmie Johnson in his natural habitat – quietly in third place in the standings with 3 wins…. Ready to pounce in the playoffs. The 7-time champion has been here before and knows exactly what it takes to win. The rest of the field knows that as long as Jimmie Johnson has a running engine… the GOAT can still chase them down.

4. Kyle Busch (2 wins, 14 top 10s)
The hottest driver currently on the circuit “Rowdy” Busch is lighting the series on FIRE. Fresh off his weekend sweep at the toughest half-mile in NASCAR Busch is primed to make a run at his second championship. Love him or hate him you can’t wait to see what he does next.

5. Brad Keselowski (2 wins, 14 top 10s)
The man who dethroned Jimmie Johnson for Roger Penske’s first championship Brad Keselowski has quietly positioned himself for a championship run. With one of the tightest crew chief to driver relationships in the series, Keselowski and Paul Wolfe will be rearing to go come September.

6. Ricky Stenhouse Jr (2 wins 7 top 10s)
The driver who was forever known as Mr. Danica Patrick has established his own name in the series this year with two incredible restrictor-plate wins at Talladega and Daytona. Bringing the long-moribund Roush Fenway Racing back into prominence Stenhouse is hungry to show the world just what he and his team are capable of.

7. Kevin Harvick (1 win 15 top 10s)
The 2014 Nascar Cup Champion hasn’t necessarily set the world on fire this year but with his team switching to Ford has performed admirably. With one win and 15 top 10’s Harvick is well positioned to have a sneaky good run in this year’s playoffs. One can never count out Bakersfield boy “Happy” Harvick.

8. Denny Hamlin (1 win 13 top 10s)
The Jordan brand sponsored driver welcomed a new child into the world and with it a renewed sense of purpose in this year’s championship battle. After coming so close to dethroning Jimmie Johnson all those years ago is this Hamlin’s best chance yet to win his first championship?

9. Ryan Blaney (1 win 9 top 10s)
The second generation driver (BLANEYACS STAND UP) has set the world on fire driving for the oldest team in Nascar Wood Brothers Racing. With his incredible performance on mile and a half tracks he is using his Ford engine to maximum effect. Can Blaney sneak in and win a championship his second year in Cup?

10. Chase Elliott (0 wins, 11 top 10s)
Chase Elliott will always be in his Hall-of-Famer father’s shadow until he’s able to get his first win on his own. He’s managed one heck of a consistent run this year with 11 top 10s and a comfortable spot in the chase. Can Elliott finally breakthrough for his first win?!
