The end of summer can sometimes be a downer. As fall begins and winter is right around the corner, it’s always nice to have something to heat things up, and nothing does this better than a rocking concert. Get yourself a seat to the AWR Tour and see Jon Anderson, Trevor Rabin and Rick Wakeman. The group tours this October and November, and you can get tickets today.
The tour kicks off Tuesday, Oct. 4 at the Hard Rock Live in Orlando, Florida. The action starts at 8 p.m. Following the Orlando show, the group heads to Durham, North Carolina, Oct. 9. From there, Anderson, Rabin and Wakeman will perform in Missouri, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Illinois, Louisiana, Texas and three stops in California. The tour’s final stop is Nov. 27 in San Jose, California.
Englishmen Anderson, Rabin and Wakeman formed in 2010 with singer John Anderson, guitarist Trevor Rabin and keyboardist Rick Wakeman. The musicians had previously been together as part of the band Yes, which was organized in 1968. The three current bandmates, however, only played together with Yes in 1991 and 1992.
Though Anderson, Rabin and Wakeman starting playing together, it wasn’t until this year that the three announced the official formation of the band called after their own names.
Currently, the group isn’t planning on releasing an album. Instead, the members want to focus on their touring. Anderson, Rabin and Wakeman have already planned a 2017 tour to Europe. Their repertoire will include popular numbers from their days at Yes, particular from the Yes albums “90125,” “Big Generator” and “Talk.”
Whether you’re a longtime fan of Yes or if you are intrigued by the new groups material, you’re sure to love what Anderson, Rabin and Wakeman have to offer. There’s a tour stop at city near you, so get your tickets today and enjoy some memorable sounds from yesteryear.
