NHL Playoffs Clinched Teams


The NHL playoffs are almost upon us and that means that the road to the Stanley Cup is officially about to start. While the commencement of the 2016 NHL playoffs is just one week away, three teams are still fighting hard for a chance to get into the finals. If you are a fan of the Boston Bruins, Detroit Red Wings, or Philadelphia Fliers, chances are you’re still a nervous wreck waiting to find out if your team will make it.

Most of the 16 teams to appear in the playoffs have already clinched their spots, especially the Washington Capitals who have looked like Stanley Cup contender from the very beginning of the season. The teams to already clinch playoff spots are the: Anaheim Ducks, Chicago Blackhawks, Dallas Stars, Florida Panthers, Los Angeles Kings, Minnesota Wild, Nashville Predators, New York Islanders, New York Rangers, Pittsburgh Penguins, San Jose Sharks, St. Louis Blues, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Washington Capitals. Will perennial contenders and 2015 champions the Chicago Blackhawks take home another Stanley Cup, or will the Washington Capitals stand firmly in their way? Three other teams are still battling it out to secure the last two spots. Those teams are the Boston Bruins, Detroit Red Wings, and Philadelphia Fliers.
