Previewing This Weeks Rams vs Cardinals Game

The St. Louis Rams (6-7) host the Arizona Cardinals (10-3) at the Edward Jones Dome on Thursday Night Football. The Cardinals look to end their two game losing streak and hold on to the top seed in the NFC. The injuries of Carson Palmer and Andre Ellington have certainly hampered this offense’s ability to put points on the board. In the past four weeks, the Drew Stanton-led Cardinals have only managed four offensive touchdowns. Meanwhile, the Rams have allowed zero points in the last two weeks. A third consecutive shutout would break the record set by the 1976 Pittsburgh Steelers.

According to RazorGator, the average price for Rams vs. Cardinals tickets on the secondary market is currently $57.60, which represents an 18% decrease in the past seven days. The get-in price is $6.00, which may be due to the recent struggles of Arizona and the below .500 record of St. Louis. Moreover, the average price for the remaining games on Arizona’s schedule is $212.35.

Larry Fitzgerald is expected to suit up against the Rams on Thursday night after sitting out a couple games due to injury. The star receiver has posted 29 catches for 288 yards with three TDs in the last three meetings with St. Louis. Rams’ QB Shaun Hill comes into the game after playing his best football the past four games with 6 TDs and 2 INTs. Since Tre Mason cracked the starting lineup, the Rams have gone 5- 4 with two of those wins coming against Denver and Seattle. The Cardinals better be prepared for a Rams pass rush that has racked up 13 sacks in the last two games.

The previous early November meeting between these two teams resulted in a 31-14 Arizona win. The game is also notorious for Carson Palmer tearing his ACL in the fourth quarter. The game was close for three quarters until the injury sparked the Cardinals to a 21-point fourth quarter. Rams QB Austin Davis threw 2 INTs, both to Patrick Peterson. Peterson and Antonio Cromartie both registered defensive touchdowns. The Cardinals defense sacked St. Louis six times while the Rams got to the quarterback only three times. Drew Stanton threw a touchdown to John Brown after Palmer’s injury.
