Twins Tickets Among Cheapest In American League

The Minnesota Twins are at 36-38 after sweeping a four-game series against the Chicago White Sox. In the underachieving AL Central that puts the Twins just five games back of the division lead. That doesn’t mean fans are chomping at the bit to see the Twins play at Target Field. Right now Twins tickets are one of the cheapest in the league with an average price of $62.14. Three of the five most expensive games left on the Twins schedule have more to do with the opponent (the New York Yankees) than anything in particular with the Twins with even their most expensive game is coming in at an average price of less than $80, the average ticket price in the MLB this season.

1) 7/5 vs. Yankees | Avg. Price: $75.07 | Get-in Price: $19

The most expensive game on the list is also Tom Brunansky bobblehead day, with the Twins giving fans a bobblehead of the right fielder celebrating his 1985 All Star game appearance. Even with the giveaway, tickets have been trending down six percent. The get-in price of $19 is the second highest price on the list, and the average price is $75.07.

2) 7/4 vs. Yankees | Avg. Price: $75.01 | Get-in Price: $20

The second game on the list is just a few cents cheaper than the first, and has seen the same six percent drop in price recently. The average price is at $75.01 for the July Fourth game, and there will be another bobblehead giveaway. This time it is Hall of Famer Lou Gehrig, for a 75th  anniversary of his farewell speech. The get-in price is the most expensive on the list at $20.

3) 7/6 vs. Yankees | Avg. Price: $74.25 | Get-in Price: $18

The final game of the Yankees series is also the third game on the list. Even on the road the Yankees remain one of the biggest draws in sports. This season has been a bit of a down year for the Yankees as they are currently in third in the AL East with a run differential of -35. It’s been a while since the Yankees have missed the postseason in back-to-back years, and even after an offseason spending spree the Yankees are in danger of seeing that trend end. Still, they are just 2.5 games out of first with a 39-36 record.

4) 9/19 vs. Indians | Avg. Price: $71.50 | Get-in Price: $5

One of the final weekends of the season marks Fan Appreciation Day at Target Field. There will be a special giveaway, and experiences for fans attending the game. While the average price of $71.50 is one of the most expensive left for the Twins, the get-in price is just $5. The Twins will face NL Central rival the Cleveland Indians, who is currently tied with the Twins for third in the division.

5) 8/23 vs. Tigers | Avg. Price: $69.40 | Get-in Price: $16

Chuck Knoblauch will be added to the Twins Hall of Fame during the final game on this list. Tickets are averaging $69.40 to see the All-Star second baseman get inducted. Knoblauch spent the first seven years of his career with the Twins, winning the World Series in his rookie season. He went on to win three more titles with the New York Yankees. The Twins face the AL Central-leading Detroit Tigers that day, and the game has a get-in price of $16.

Bonus: 7/15 All Star Game at Target Field | Avg. Price: $866.06 | Get-in Price: $232

Even if the Twins don’t make a playoff push this season, Minnesota fans will have a chance to attend a special event at Target Field. This year the All Star game is in Minnesota, the first time the Twins have hosted the event since they moved to Target Field. It’s also marks the first time the All Star game is in Minnesota since 1985 when the National League won 6-1. Tickets are averaging $866.06 for the game with a get-in price of $232.
