Miley Cyrus has extended her dominion over the music world, with the recent announcement of a Bangerz 2014 Tour in support of her latest record. From the provocative MTV Video Music Awards performance with Robin Thicke, to the hilarious skits on Saturday Night Live, and swinging nude on a wrecking ball, it’s safe to say that 2013 has been Miley Cyrus’ year. Smilers (as her fans are aptly named) across the nation now have another reason to rejoice—following the recent release of the Bangerz 2014 tour dates, Miley will be workin’ and twerkin’ at a venue near you!
The former Disney tween-turned-provocateur is no stranger to the stage, but Bangerz 2014 will be Cyrus’ first major roadshow since her 2008 tour as Disney alter ego and teen idol, “Hannah Montana.” The parent-friendly tickets sold so well, they were nearly impossible to get. This time around, not only will her fans be older, but the starlet herself has matured beyond her years, and it will be interesting to see if ticket demand will be as high as her Disney zenith days. If price is any indicator of ticket demand, Miley Cyrus’ concert will be the biggest of the year. Bangerz tickets are averaging $396, $209 more than Britney Spears tickets, $116 more than Selena Gomez tickets, $101 more than Justin Timberlake tickets, and $32 more than Demi Lovato tickets (all former Disney Channel stars). Judging by the amount of hype and controversy surrounding the artist, Cyrus’ tickets will be hotter than ever.
I wanna be on tour already.

Bangerz was released on Oct.8 and debuted at No.1 on both Billboard’s 200 and iTunes, while the two singles off of the album (“Wrecking Ball” & “We Can’t Stop”) have sold over 4.3 million copies in the U.S., effectively pushing Justin Timberlake and Drake out of the top spots. If one includes her albums as Hannah Montana, Bangerz marks the global starlet’s fifth No.1 album at the tender age of 20.
Cyrus will be showcasing her cross-genre tracks, tongue swiveling and all, performing party single “We Cant Stop,” belting out “Wrecking Ball,” and even rapping “23” (featuring Wiz Khalifa and Juicy J) off the record. Miley is extremely excited to go on tour and bring a fresh boundary-pushing set across the nation, relating to Ryan Seacrest: “It’s a show from the minute you walk into the door. Nothing that’s obviously traditional.” Fans are sure to see something special, as Miley has proven to all that she is not one to disappoint!
The pop star personally announced the news last month, à la Kanye West, interrupting actor Edward Norton’s SNL monologue to reveal her tour, and on November 6, she released the string of dates. A week prior, she made appearances on Jimmy Fallon and Ellen Degeneres, displaying her vocal chops and raw musical talent, gimmick-free. The Bangerz Tour is scheduled to kick off on Valentines Day in Vancouver, British Columbia, before traveling across the U.S. through April. The tour totals 38 days and is scheduled to hit the biggest cities in the country; including, LA, Dallas, Denver, Atlanta, Tampa, St. Louis, ending in Uniondale, NY on April 24.
