Just prior to the conclusion of his sold-out Dirt Road Diaries tour, Luke Bryan announced he will be headlining another tour in 2014. The ACM Entertainer of the Year announced 18 shows as part of his That’s My Kind of Night Tour set to open January 16 in Columbus at Schottenstein Center. His hit song, with the same name as the tour, reached the top spot on the Country charts and is Bryan’s latest single from his fourth studio album, Crash My Party.
Luke Bryan’s “That’s My Kind of Night” video (above) was shot during his Dirt Road Diaries Tour. The Country superstar showed off a few of his dance moves, playing to the crowd and getting everyone out of their seats to sing along. Controversy over the country, pop single recently ran rapid; Zac Brown called the single “one of the worst songs I’ve ever heard.” But, Country fans certainly love it and although it may not be traditional country, the single has sold over 869,000 copies. Jason Aldean, who came on to the Country scene around the same time as Bryan responded to Brown’s comments on social media saying, “It’s a big ol’ hit, so apparently the fans love it which is what matters. Keep doin’ your thing LB!!!”
Luke Bryan is also nominated for Musical Event of the Year and Entertainer of the Year, along with Male Vocalist of the Year, at the upcoming 2013 CMA Awards which will be aired live November 6 from Nashville. In addition, Wednesday it was announced that Bryan is up for CMT’s Artist of the Year with Aldean, Florida Georgia Line, Hunter Hayes, and Tim McGraw. That ceremony is airing live December 3. Following the awards shows and a small break during the holidays, Bryan’s 2014 That’s My Kind of Night Tour will kick off. The tour has him performing in New York at Madison Square Garden, and Country hot spots like Knoxville’s Thompson-Boiling Arena, Oklahoma City’s Chesapeake Energy Arena, Omaha’s CentryLink Center, and Memphis’ FedEx Forum.
