Former Disney starlet Demi Lovato, who has experienced her fair share of struggles with self-acceptance, now has a fresh outlook on life, relationships, and music. The X-Factor judge is healthier and happier than ever after the release of her album, Demi, which she considers “better than anything I have ever done!” Lovato is having a great year, renewing her contract as a judge on the X-Factor, dropping a new CD, and now the 21 year-old artist is topping it all off with a tour announcement! Demi Lovato revealed to her 13 million Twitter followers, her North American leg of the 2014 Neon Lights Tour that will kick off in February in support of her self-titled album.
Due to her commitment to the X-Factor, Lovato has yet to trek the globe in support of her album Demi that dropped in May earlier this year. Covering 27 cities and spanning the months of February and March, Lovato looks forward to bringing “positive music” to her fans as she is getting sick of “hearing only music talking about partying and drinking and getting high…It’s not what I stand for.” Joining Demi along for the ride will be “Want U Back” singer Cher Lloyd, and two up and coming girl groups, The X Factor’s Fifth Harmony, and British group Little Mix. The pop princesses will be heading to Houston, Nashville, Toronto, Tampa, and Grand Rapids, to name a few.
It’s no secret that Demi Lovato has been plagued by challenging body and mind issues, having to withdraw from her previous 2010 world tour with “physical and emotional issues” and partake in a rehab program. She hoped to bring her strife out in the open by being very honest and forthcoming with fans in her lyrics on her fourth studio album. Lovato’s baring approach seems to have paid off, as Demi debuted at No.3 on the US Billboard 200, and No.10 on the UK Albums Chart. Demi has already seen two hit singles, “Made in the U.S.A” and “Heart Attack” that peaked at number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. The third single on the album, “Neon Lights” was the influence for her North American Tour.
