While Britney Spears’ Las Vegas residency has been confirmed since May, the official announcement was made on Tuesday on “Good Morning America”.  The residency kicks off on December 27 at the Planet Hollywood Hotel and is currently scheduled for a two-year run, with 50 shows per year. Its been reported that Spears will earn an estimated $310,000 per show, for a total of over $30 million for the over the two years.

The show, titled “Piece of Me”, is expected to draw heavily from Britney’s long catalog of hits, but also include new music. It was also announced Tuesday that her new yet untitled album will be released on December 3. “Work B****”, the first single off the album, was hastily dropped Sunday after an unofficial leak and he video can be seen above. Pop music fans can also be excited for the upcoming release of Britney’s highly anticipated duet with fellow Disney star-turned-sex symbol Miley Cyrus.

“The energy here is really, really good. I’m definitely going to do the greatest hits, but I’m going to have to put some of my new material into it just to keep it fresh.” –Spears

The average price for the recently released tickets to “Piece of Me” is $214. Britney joins performers such as Celine Dion, Elton John, Santana, and Shania Twain as A-list artists with Sin City residencies. See how her prices compare to the other top the Vegas residencies after the jump.

Rank Artist Venue Avg. Price Tickets

Despite the hype surrounding the announcement of her residency, Britney’s tickets are relatively affordable compared to the other top Vegas acts. The modest prices may stem from uncertainty regarding details of the performance, but more likely are dictated by the relatively young age of Briney fans. The highest-priced show features Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, and is almost twice as expensive as “Piece of Me”. Its also interesting to point out that Caesars is the home to four of the top ten residencies. With Planet Hollywood investing so much in Britney’s show, it will be interesting to see if the up-and-coming hotel adds more talent to its roster.
