Rock on! The fifth annual Epicenter Festival returns to the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine for the third straight year on September 21. The KROQ sponsored event will feature Southern California’s own – The Offspring, Bad Religion, Pennywise, and Pierce the Veil. The heavy hitters will be joined by A Day To Remember, All Time Low, Falling In Reverse, The Wonder Years, FIDLAR, New Beat Fund, and Plague Vendor. Last year, the Epicenter Festival lineup included: Deftones, Bush, Scars On Broadway, Hollywood Undead, Chevelle, Escape The Fate, Dead Sara, Crash Kings, Hyro Da Hero, and Beware Of Darkness.
“Epicenter is celebrating our fifth year and to honor the festival’s anniversary we wanted the lineup to reflect not only the heritage of Southern California music, but also showcase the most exciting new rock of the day,” Gary Spivack, Right Arm Entertainment
Unlike other major music festivals this summer, it isn’t about ‘headliners’ and ‘fillers'; instead all the acts are expected to play significant minutes on one of two stages for non stop, top of the line entertainment. Some of the best performances of the day last year occurred midday. Typically at festivals the ‘headliners’ will go on last encouraging festival goers to stay until the end. Spivack tells Pollstar “we’re very into bulk and providing the rock fan with the most bang for their buck.” Epicenter Festival tickets are averaging $241 on the secondary market, a similar ticket price to a one-day pass to the major festivals this season.
