2013 College World Series Tickets

The College World Series is underway, and ticket prices on the secondary market are changing. Unexpected matchups in the loser’s bracket, teams reaching the College World Series for the first time, and excitement building just before the games, are all contributors to the change in College World Series tickets prices. In general, prices for the earlier round games have decreased in cost while prices for the later rounds have increased since we took a look at CWS tickets on June 4.

Tonight, No. 1 seeded North Carolina will play No. 4 LSU in a matchup that baseball fans expected (and wanted) to see. The only difference is, the College World Series favorites were supposed to be playing in the winner’s bracket – not facing elimination this evening. Whoever loses tonight’s game will be packing their bags like Louisville did last night. The average price for this game is almost half the cost of what it was two weeks ago and has seen the largest drop in price of any game since. North Carolina vs. LSU is $26 less than the average price of Tuesday’s winner’s bracket game NC State vs. UCLA.

Despite being the last team to secure their spot in the 2013 College World Series, the Mississippi State Bulldogs are the first to win two games in Omaha. Mississippi State earned a bye until Game 11 where they’ll play the winner of Indiana vs. Oregon State – two teams they have already beaten in the CWS. The winner of Game 9 will have to beat the Bulldogs twice in a row to advance to the NCAA College World Series Finals. The Indiana Hoosiers (1-1) advanced to the College World Series for the first time in school history after a sweep of the Super Regional at Florida State. Tickets for Indiana vs. Oregon State Game 9 are up, the only early round game to see a price increase since June 4.

NCAA College World Series Finals tickets are up in the last 14 days, now averaging $165 – the most expensive game is the first.
