Like last week, Razorgator put together our Top 10 events of the week based on the average ticket price and available inventory by performance (show, game). This week, our top 10 events is made up of three (3) MLB teams, two (2) College Football teams, one (1) NFL team, and the remaining spots are held by Music Artists. To note, the top 6 events this week ranked in the top 20 percent in both average ticket price and available inventory by performance.
Similar to last week, MLB teams secure the top 3 spots. With the Yankees out of the World Series, the top 3 spots in this week’s Top 10 events goes to the San Francisco Giants, Detroit Tigers (who have already secured a spot in the World Series), and the St. Louis Cardinals respectively. After tonight’s NLCS Game 7, four (4) World Series games will be played this week. The Giants, who come in as the top ranked event of the week, boast the highest average price ($1,040) of the top 10 events.
Legendary icon Barbra Streisand comes in at No. 4 of our Top 10 Events of the Week. Streisand performs in Toronto, ON (Oct. 23) and Chicago, IL (Oct. 26) this week. Her tour, Barbra: Live, is comprised of just 12 shows in the U.S., so demand is high. The average price you’ll spend to see Streisand this week, $460.
Following Streisand on our Top 10 Events of the Week, are both our College Football teams- the #8 Oklahoma Sooners who host the #5 Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the #2 Florida Gators who play SEC East rival, the #10 Georgia Bulldogs at home. All four of these teams have their eyes on a BCS game.
The No. 7 and 8 events of the week belong to two music artists, influential figure Bob Dylan and country superstar, Jason Aldean. Dylan is a busy man this week with four shows in Santa Barbara, CA (Oct. 22), San Diego, CA (Oct. 24), Los Angeles, CA (Oct. 26), and Las Vegas, NV (Oct. 27). In each of the California stops, Dylan will be joined by special guest (and former Dire Straits frontman) Mark Knopfler. Jason Aldean will make three stops this week in the state of Texas; San Antonio (Oct. 25), Houston (Oct. 26), and Dallas (Oct. 27). His fifth studio album, Night Train, was released last Tuesday.
Last week, the only NFL team to make our weekly top 10 was the San Francisco 49ers at No. 6; this week it’s the Minnesota Vikings at No. 9. The 5-2 Vikings will play the 2-4 Bucs at the Metrodome; which, despite what the Bucs record indicates, should be a pretty even matchup. Check out the offensive comparison here. Worth noting, both our Top 10 NFL events the past two weeks have been Thursday night games.
And, the No. 10 Event of the Week is a three-way tie between Justin Bieber, Bruce Springsteen, and Vicente Fernandez. Each performer has 3 shows this week; each rank in the top 20 percent in average ticket price (Bieber at $314, Springsteen at $180, Fernandez at $299).
