10. Dave Matthews Band

“What Would You Say” if I told you that the Dave Matthews Band is on tour and coming to an arena near you? Dave Matthews Band tickets make it to number 10 on the list of top ten events this week. At an average price of $172, you can’t afford to miss the critically-acclaimed band jam across the United States. The Dave Matthews Band Summer Tour will end in September, but DMB fans shouldn’t fret. The band will release its eighth studio album Away from the World on September 11th. People familiar with DMB live performances know that every concert isn’t the same, with the group improvising renditions of some of their popular hits like, “Satellite,” “Ants Marching,” and their new song “Mercy.” After 20 years of summer tours, the band took the summer of 2011 off, but now the group is back for summer 2012, making it one of the hottest events this week.

9. Red Sox

Summer in Boston will be scorching this week. For over one-hundred years, the Yankees-Red Sox rivalry is one of the fiercest and oldest rivalries in all of sports. It’s no surprise that this week’s encounter between the two legendary teams in Fenway Park make Red Sox tickets one of the top-ten events. As of this writing, the Red Sox sit 6.5 games behind the division leading New York Yankees. The Yankees have their work cut out for them. The always vocal and raucous Boston fans will fill baseball oldest stadium Fenway Park, and will lay into anyone wearing pinstripes. Tickets sell on average $200 this week, so buy them quick so you too can enjoy hits like “Carolina on my Mind,” “You’ve Got a Friend,” and “Fire and Rain.” The multiple-Grammy Award winner is hitting arenas across the United States in a summer long tour. There’s no better way to enjoy a hot summer night than an evening with the soft, relaxing sounds of James Taylor.

7. Roger Waters

Hey you! Roger Waters is performing in the United States, and Canada. Roger Waters tickets stay at number eight on the list of most sought after tickets with an average price of $206. The Pink Floyd founder is considered by many as one of the best singer-songwriter alive today. With hits like “Comfortably Numb,” “The Wall,” and many more, this is one concert that makes you wish you were here. After leaving the famous English rock group in 1985, the rock and roll hall of famer embarked on a successful solo career, and briefly reunited with the group in 2005 at a charity concert. Waters is going solo on this tour as he hits venues this week across the northeastern United States this week.

6. Coldplay

The critically-acclaimed British alternative-pop group is back in the United States this summer. Coldplay tickets drop from number two to number six this week. This is good news to fans and their wallets as average ticket prices fall from $374 to $210. Based on ticket pricing, southern fans really enjoyed the band. This week the band will head to Philly and D.C. before heading up to Toronto next week. This summer will showcase the final North American leg of the group’s Mylo Xyloto Tour before Coldplay heads off to Europe and Australasia. Watch as Chris Martin and the boys perform their hits like “Yellow,” “Fix You,” and their latest hit “Paradise.” The seven-time Grammy award winning band wows the audience with a concert containing amazing lights, and atmosphere that complements their meditative and impassioned sound.

5. Celine Dion

Your heart will go on this week. The French-Canadian diva returns to the list after a brief disappearance last week. Celine Dion tickets for her Las Vegas show simply titled Celine sell on average for $212. The French-Canadian pop idol’s Vegas show has been declared the best show in North America in 2011. Fans have plenty of time to view the diva live as she will be performing at the famous Caesar’s Palace Casino until 2014 for 70 performances a year. Since the rerelease of the movie Titanic, a new generation of music listeners has been introduced to the powerful voice of Celine Dion.

4. Kanye West

To call Kanye West cocky is an understatement, but when the one they call Yeezy has won 49 awards, and is dating Kim Kardashian, he has a lot to be cocky about. Kanye will perform two shows this weekend in Atlantic City and is the hottest hip-hop concerts this week. Kanye West tickets sell on average for $220, making it to the number four spot. It’s also the only hip-hop act on this list (unless Kenny Chesney busts a flow). West’s latest single “Mercy” with Pusha T, 2 Chainz, and Big Sean is hip-hop’s hottest song this summer. It’s just one song off his debut collaborative album Cruel Summer, scheduled for release next month, and contains contributions by John Legend, Kid Cudi, and Big Sean, just to name a few. This weekend, Atlantic City’s Ovation Hall at Revel Resort will be filled with Yeezy’s biggest fans, including Kanye West himself.

3. The Book of Mormon

The multiple-award winning musical The Book of Mormonremains at the number three spot for the fourth week in a row for most sought after tickets based on average price. As the critically-acclaimed musical will embark on its U.S. tour in the fall, Book of Mormon tickets in New York are still selling like crazy. Average prices for the comedic musical sell for $395, down $20 dollars from last week. It is the only Broadway musical to make it on the list. The masterminds behind South Park Matt Stone and Trey Parker made their huge debut on Broadway with their critically acclaimed religious satire musical in 2011. The show has won nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical. The Book of Mormon will be a main stay in Broadway’s Eugene O’Neill Theatre, but will tour the country in late 2012 and in London in 2013.

2. Kenny Chesney

Country music superstar Kenny Chesney moves to the number two spot on the list this week for his Brothers of Sun of the Sun Tour, and ticket prices have shot up to $373 on average. The increase in ticket prices is the result of Chesney playing major stadiums in the Midwest, where he gets a lot of love. Chesney is also the top musical act on this list, but don’t tell Kanye West that.  It’s still a great deal considering fellow country superstar Tim McGraw is also co-headlining the tour. The Brothers of the Sun tour dates is reaching large stadiums all over the United States. Watch as the boys from Tennessee rock out with other artists like Grace Potter and Jake Owen. The star studded tour is sure to be one of the summer’s most amazing and fun events, so get your tickets now before they go up even further.

1. UFC Ultimate Fighting Championship

Mixed-Martial Arts is returning to Las Vegas this weekend. UFC Ultimate Fighting Championship tickets are top sporting event tickets on this list and make it to the top spot this week. Average tickets prices for UFC 148 are $904, which is not surprising considering the card. The long-awaited, and recently delayed, rematch between Chael Sonnen and defending UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva will finally take place in the famous MGM Grand Hotel Garden Arena. Sonnen almost defeated Silva in points two years ago, but Silva made him tap out in the final round to keep his title. Silva seeks to silence the trash-talking Sonnen, and prove that he is the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world. Forrest Griffin versus Tito Ortiz is also on the card. Ortiz plans to retire after this fight, ending his 15-year career in the UFC. With Celine Dion and the UFC this weekend, people in Vegas have a wide spectrum of events to follow.
