New York Yankees Nine-Game Winning Streak

The New York Yankees quietly have gone from a last-place tie in the American league East to sporting one of the best records in Major League Baseball, behind only the Los Angeles Dodgers, who are having a breakout season of their own. Since late in may, the New York Yankees have gone 20-4, currently finding themselves in the middle of a nine game win streak, sweeping their last three series over the New York Mets, Atlanta Braves, and wrapping up there nine game win streak with a win over the National League East leading Washington Nationals. According to New York Yankees shortstop and captain Derek Jeter it can be credited to the pitching, who have had a large part in the New York Yankees recent success.

The Yankees bullpen has an impressive ERA of 1.97 in the month of June, but surprisingly it is not necessarily just the big names that are getting the job done in New York. C.C. Sabathia, who signed the monster contract in the off-season of 2009, has only gone 3-2 in his last five starts, but less hyped pitchers such as Ivan Nova having been pulling up the slack for teammate C.C. Sabathia. Nova has put together a stellar resume in the month of June including going 3-0, Nova also boasted an ERA .80, and for Nova his success has dated back to May, where he has not given up a loss in 5 starts since May 22.

Although the New York Yankees have been on an absolute tear since May 22nd, the fan base is no stranger to success in the Big Apple. Even in the midst of a nine game win streak New York Yankee Tickets have actually fallen in price. Before the nine game win streak New York Yankees Tickets carried a price tag of $82, now in the midst of the nine game win streak you can get Yankee Tickets for an average of $74.
