Dodgers Tickets 2012

Under new management of Magic Johnson’s group, the Los Angeles Dodgers are soaring to success and becoming once again a prominent team in the LA area. This 2012 season they find themselves atop the National League West with a record of 24 wins and 13 losses, which is currently tied for the best record in baseball. The Dodgers are continuing the success that they began to find late last 2011 season and are hoping to continue to remain strong throughout this 2012 season.

Matt Kemp, deemed baseballs best player by Magic Johnson, leads the Dodgers in hitting, Kemp doing so even though he finds himself currently on the 15-day disabled list with a mild strain of his left hamstring. This breaks Kemp’s streak of consecutive games played at 399. Also, Andre Ethier is having an exceptionally great year so far at the plate with 34 runs batted in, ranking him third in the MLB behind Josh Hamilton of the Texas Rangers and Edwin Encarnacion of the Toronto Blue Jays.

After winning the Major League Baseball players choice award for National League outstanding pitcher of the year, Rawlings Gold Glove, and the Cy Young in 2011, Clayton Kershaw remains consistent for the Dodgers. Kershaw has tallied a winning record of 3-1 this season picking up right where he left off at the end of the 2011 season. This year though Kershaw is not a one man pitching show for the Dodgers, receiving help from Chris Capuano and Ted Lilly, who combined boast an impressive record of 10 wins and only 1 loss.

About the Los Angeles Dodgers

The Los Angeles Dodgers started out the storied Brooklyn Dodgers before leaving the flashing lights of New York to enter the spotlight of Hollywood. Experiencing much success in the initial years including 5 World Series championships (1959, 1963, 1965, 1981, and 1988), the Dodgers added onto to their previous title in 1955 as the Brooklyn Dodgers. Remaining a viable contender in the 2000’s, that success has been overshadowed in recent years by experiencing many off the field issues, including Manny Ramirez’s highly publicized violation of the MLB’s drug policy that led to a 50 game suspension and financial issues under the ownership of Frank McCourt when the proud historied franchise filed for bankruptcy. The Bankruptcy being filed by McCourt left the fate of the Dodgers, not up to the players on the field, but rather to be decided in a courtroom. This did not last long though when Los Angeles legend Magic Johnson bought the Dodgers and the best pitching/hitting combo of Kershaw and Kemp since the late 1980’s combo of Orel Horshiser and Kirk Gibson. This recent aligning of the stars for the Dodgers under the spotlight of Hollywood, along with their current success, makes them a realistic contender for the World Series Championship this 2012 season. This is very remarkable considering only one year prior the Dodger organization came close to extinction. If the Dodgers do win this season it would make it the seventh championship for the Dodgers organization and the sixth Los Angeles Championship title for Magic Johnson.
