The Road to March Madness

Vegas currently has North Carolina sitting at the top of NCAA Men’s Basketball at 7/2 (VegasInsider). The Tar Heels definitely has the talent to win it all. They are currently ranked first in points and rebounds per game and is being led by Harrison Barnes, the small forward who is averaging 17.7 points and 5 rebounds per game.

Both ESPN and the Associated Press have Kentucky ranked first (ESPN). However, Kentucky comes right after North Carolina in Vegas odds at 13/2. Kentucky is currently 25-1.

Syracuse, Duke, Missouri, and Kansas are also ranked high according to ESPN and the Associated Press.

So with all this hoopla about NCAA basketball and with March Madness in less than a month away, which teams are going to make it to the Final Four? Here are the two predicted matchups that we would like to see in the Final Four:

DUKE vs. NORTH CAROLINA

Ahhh… the rivalry. Don’t think for a second that the Tar Heels didn’t forget Austin Rivers’ game winning shot earlier this month. It’ll be interesting to see how UNC will respond if these two schools meet in the Final Four. Will they be discouraged? Or will they see the game as an opportunity to carry out some vengeance?

SYRACUSE vs. OHIO STATE

Syracuse is currently second in the nation and has a record of 26-1. Ohio State is ranked #6 with a record of 22-4, and the Buckeyes also have Jared Sullinger. Sullinger is a big man who has a knack for grabbing rebounds. Syracuse on the other hand relies more on the team effort to win games. This should be a good matchup as both schools are ranked in the top 10.

So who do I think is going to win it all?

I’m going to side with Vegas and put my money on the Tar Heels.
