She has a strong and unique voice that will establish her as an artist people will come to enjoy for many years to come. ASAP Rocky
Kendrick Lamar dominated the hip hop world in 2011, and 2012 will belong to ASAP Rocky. ASAP Rocky has a unique skill and a great ear for beats. Hailing from Harlem, ASAP Rocky was born Rakim Mayers. He was named after rap legend Rakim, which may foreshadow the young rapper’s future. Many people are projecting great things from ASAP Rocky. ASAP will be joining Drake and Kendrick Lamar on a 2012 tour. His spot on the tour solidifies his position as an artist to watch out for and a possible 2012 freshmen of the year candidate.

Allen Stone

No singer has a voice like Allen Stone and no singer looks like Allen Stone. If you take a look at Allen Stone, you could not have guessed that this man is an R&B and Soul singer. Born in Seattle, WA, Stone draws his influences from Marvin Gaye and Aretha Franklin. Allen Stone proves that soul is still running strong in America.

White Arrows
From Los Angeles, CA, White Arrows certainly does not have a distinct sound, and that’s a good thing. Each song provides something different from the last. Lead singer, Mickey Schiff, always sings differently and sounds differently. This new approach to music brings a fresh air to a scene that is now dominated by indie rock. While White Arrows continue to follow in the footsteps of the indie rock sound, they’re doing it differently and that’s something to look forward to in 2012.

Frank Ocean

After a stellar year and being named the 2011 Rookie of the Year by GQ Magazine, Frank Ocean is expected to have a great year in 2012. In 2011, the world saw Frank Ocean releasing mixtapes and EPs. Next year, we hope to see this Ocean release a studio recorded album. As we see Frank Ocean dominate 2011 releasing only mixtapes, 2012 will definitely see commercial success for Frank Ocean and definitely more exposure.
